Arts and Recreation Initiative
Summer Art Leader
Our Summer Art Coordinators will be working with a team to lead children's arts programs throughout the summer months and to brighten up our community with a series of public art projects. Mentors will work directly with the Summer Art Leaders, and the employees will be working together to develop summer programming.
Duties will include:
- Public Art Installations- Community consultation regarding placement and subject of art.
Working with artists to gather and manage supplies.
- Art classes- Working with local artists to develop a series of art classes for children in
different age groups and styles.
- Community Events- Working with other CAYLS Employees to plan events that will
feature art projects and activities
Teen Summer Program
Youth Leader
The objective of the CAYLS Teen Summer Program is to provide a much needed safe space for tweens and teens to come together during the summer months to engage in activities that keep them active, social and having fun. This team of Youth Leaders will collaborate to offer fun activities and games to young adults in the Chase area.
Examples of activities include:
Nerf battle
Volleyball at the beach
Soccer
Slip n Slide baseball
Color bomb/water gun race [around town]
Man-Tracker
Capture the Flag
Water gun battles
Obstacle Course
Community Scavenger Hunt
Outdoor games: sponge darts, pool noodle javelin, foam Twister, pass the water...
Board games/card games/trivia/charades
Also, lots of physical art activities/projects
Chase Pollinator Initiative
Environmental Leader
Environmental Leaders will assist in the creation of pollinator gardens and in their subsequent care. This will be a youth led position, where Leaders will have a say in what projects are carried out, and mentors will help with planning and prioritization.
